I am so happy you learned something new!  Pictures are precious so saving them is important. There were some good suggestions given in this thread, I personally would pick a cloud storage.

I have Dropbox, but "free" means 5gb of space. I filled that real fast, as pictures from some phones are high megapixel, therefore take up more space. After 5gb, Dropbox wants $9.99 a month for more space. No way!

I have to find a new cloud now too. Amazon has unlimited for 50(ish) bucks a year. Google drive is also cloud based.

What I worry about now is having pictures in too many clouds. I need to consolidate and put them all in one spot. Amazon has a Black Friiday deal for space, $5.00 unlimited (for a year I think). Obviously it is a sales draw, because the yearly fee will kick in eventually.

My pictures automatically sync with my desktop computer when it's locked and has wifi on. It also saves them to icloud. I also have an external drive that automatically backs up everything on my desktop computer multiple times a day.

JaxsMom, do you have any idea how you have that happen? Mine used to sync with my computer, and I loved it! Also save to the cloud, but I loved that they auto-appeared on my computer.

Then, suddenly, they stopped showing up? My dropbox was full, that is the only thing I can think of? I have been through every setting on my phone (i6) and cannot see any setting that changed?

I want it back Smiley Sad Any idea?

@gabstoomuch & everyone else.....

Check w/your ISP.  Most if not all have FREE storage.

Comcast - http://my.xfinity.com/storage/

Verizon - http://www.verizon.com/home/utilities/cloudstorage/

I'm on a mac and have an iphone. On my phone's settings I have icloud and photo stream turned on. As far as backing up, I just use an external drive with my mac computer's time machine application so it auto backs up multiple times a day.

I have a samsung galaxy 4.  I have a lot of picture albums that I don't have saved on anything but my phone!  If I lost that phone...I would be LOST.

What device do you use to save pictures...do you just download them to your computer?

What happens if the computer crashes?

I wasn't happy with the "clickfree" I ordered from QVC many years ago, but would be interested in another device.  Your input is appreciated.  TIA    beanie

@beanie I use Google photo to store and manage the photos I take with my Phone's camera. https://support.google.com/photos#topic=6128818

When I take a picture with my Note 5 it goes automatic over wi-fi to my Google Photo account. You have to setup your account to work this way.

This is information about setup of the Verizon cloud. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/verizon-cloud-faqs/

I use the cloud backup to save another copy of photos, contacts, any files, and settings.

 @gabstoomuch

I have used Carbonite since 2011, and am happy with the service. It does an auto backup.
