photos from Samsung to MacBook

Not sure why I can't move my photos from my Samsung Galaxy 9 to my Mac Book.  Not a problem from my old LG phone or my digital camera. Any thoughts?

Generally speaking photos on an Android device get backed up on Google's photo cloud and can be accessed from there by anything with a web browser. They can then be downloaded from Google's cloud to the other device. I don't know of any reason why that wouldn't work with a Mac.
