I think some people buy the Tracfone just for the minutes - in other words they don't transfer the minutes to the new phone but use it for their old phone..I could be wrong, but that is what I am thinking..

Wow, very smart. If I don't get the TSV I will do the same. I just looked and it also comes with one of those portable chargers. Still 70 bux. Probably not the best charger, but in a pinch good to have...for free.

I like my 840 but it has some deficits. I'm not sure the TSV doesn't have its own issues, such as the clock not keeping time, among others I'd discover.

Ok how do you do that??? I bought DH another LG840G last year since it was cheaper then buying mins. but I set up the new phone. How do you just put the mins from the new phone on the old phone. I know HSN still has it at a great price so I may just buy another one. LOL!!!

I hope you don't think me stupid on this question:

Forever I have had AT&T...

Would love to purchase phones here and get out from under the contracts/

However, my question is this, if I have a problem with my phone for whatever reason, who would I go to for help?

With AT&T, I can just run into their nearest store////

Tracfone has CS in some other country. Not the finest but they've always been able to help. I really never had a major problem though. Nightowlz, I don't remember exactly what I did but it was so simple that it took maybe 2 minutes. I didn't activate the new phone and since I already had an account with the old phone, that's where the minutes and time extension went.

Nightowlz, if you want to purchase the tracfone just for the cheaper minutes, call the phone number that comes with the new phone as you would to redeem your free time, they will ask you for your serial # on your phone they are loading it to (in this case, the tracfone you are already using right?), give them this serial number, not the new phone serial #. I hope that helps. Smile

eta~ oh and thank you for the link to the bonus minutes, nice...

Rachelle, if you feel safer having a phone store you can access, like happy housewife said, get your tracfone at Radio Shack, they have the triple mins on their phones and prices comparible to the Q or HSN, I think even Walmart does. Sounds like they have good customer service according to her. I just have not heard of any real problems with them after the initial set up.

I have read a couple times someone had problems with the set up of the tracfone but not sure if that was user or what. I know I will catch the dickens from somebody for that! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I LOVE my tracfone, I love not having a monthly bill and I always have access to purchase minutes on the phone itself if need be. Great customer service and good solid reception, I have never lost a call.

I just buy a new phone, it's cheaper than any card with equivalent minutes and a year of service.
