new computer today

I am going to buy a new computer today at best buy. What do I need for someone like me that wants to download music on her ipod, put my pictures on computer and email and just surf the web and email friends. I don't understand all that stuff they talk about like ram and so on.I want a desk top and printer I print coupons. I don't need it for work or anything just fun. Thanks
