I just ordered the Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon, but have not received it yet. I only want it for reading as I already have an Ipad Air (my first Ipad), which I really love. I want the Kindle to take with me because I do not take my Ipad with me. I just think it will be great to slip it in my purse for when I am waiting at a doctor's office or something. I went to Staples last weekend to look at it and hold it. It was the same price as Amazon ($119.00). However, they did not have in stock and said they would have to order it. So I came home and ordered it from Amazon, and since I have Prime for the 2 day shipping and free shipping, I should have it on Tuesday, 9/16/14. Don't buy any of the Kindles on QVC. Like the other poster said they throw in stuff you don't need and charge too much. Also, if you have Prime at Amazon, there are a lot of books you can download for free. You can go on line at Amazon and compare the features and then I would suggest you go to a store that carries both like Best Buy and look at all the Kindles and Nooks. If you do not have another tablet, you may want the Kindle HD or Kindle HDX because if you go on the internet it will be color. The Kindle Paperwhite is black and white. I did not know they were coming out with a new Kindle Paperwhite this month. Oh well. That is okay. I am sure I will be fine with the current one. Be sure to get a case for whatever you can to protect it. Amazon has a big selection of cases. (Can you tell that I really like Amazon?) Hope you find what you want.

I have the Kindle Keyboard which is one of their earlier e-readers. I would go with a Kindle from Amazon because Amazon has great customer service. I've had to call their 800 number a couple of times to instruct me on something and they were wonderful and solved my problem.

I have bought the 1st Gen Nook, the Nook Tablet and the Nook HD. I have loved them all. I initially went with Nook, bc it took many more formats and was capable of borrowing from Libraries which Kindle could not. I am not sure but I think borrowing on the Kindle is limited to their in-house 'library'. It may not be any more, but the Nook does allow more formats. I will stick with Nook, I'd say definitely give them a serious look.

After using a Nook Tablet for a few years, I went up to a Nook HD+. I really like it.
I'm not sure if a Kindle can use a SIMM card. My Nook holds 32 GB of space, plus I have a 32 GB card installed, for a total of 64 GB of space. That holds........ALOT!......of books. Some people have had a lot of luck using a 64 GB card in their Nooks....I haven't gone that high yet.
It used to be that the Kindle was a straight 16 GB of space and that was it. No card slot at all. Is it still that way? Or does the Kindle now have a slot for a microsd card? Didn't used to.
I have never regretted having extra space. I have regretted not having enough space. That was a big concern for me anyway.
I had some issues with my Nook Tablet and had to use CS. I had no trouble with them at all.
I'm not worried about B & N going out of business.

You can borrow from your local library on Kindle, too.

I have the Nook HD and love it. I don't think the Nook is going anywhere, so I wouldn't worry about that. The nice thing about the Nook is that I was able to download the Kindle app so I have the best of both worlds. There might be a Nook app as well if you decide to go with the Kindle. What's nice is that with the Kindle app, I get constant updates, so I always have the latest features.

OK. We don't care about that, but what tablet do you like?
