if I buy an iPhone directly from Apple

I currently have an iPhone and C-Spire is my carrier. if I buy an iPhone from Apple instead of upgrading through C-Spire but plan to keep C-Spire as my service provider, can I take my new phone to C-Spire and have them transfer my info from my old phone to my new one?

Why not do it yourself? You can do it through iTunes or iCloud.

glb613, your electronic device expertise far exceeds mine. I wouldn't begin to know how to do that, so I rely on professionals. I am just asking if anyone can advise on whether this is the way it is typically done.

Re: if I buy an iPhone directly from Apple

Going from one iPhone to another iPhone is no problem. Everything is synced through iCloud, and it's based off of your Apple ID. On the old phone, make sure you have it set up to save to the cloud. If you don't know how to do that, go to an Apple store, and they will show you and set it up for you. Then when you get your new phone, during set up you will put your Apple ID in. Since that iD is linked to everything, it will automatically grab everything from the cloud and put it in your new phone. So the key here...make sure you already have you current phone set up to save to the cloud.

One other thought...if you have pictures on the current phone, make sure you plug the phone into your computer to save the pictures. The cloud only saves your pictures for 30 days, so if you don't have the pictures saved somewhere they will be lost when you transition from one phone to the other. Only those pictures that are saved in the cloud will transfer over.

This is a question to ask your cell phone provider. You need to know which iPhone works on your network. A phone running CDMA, or GSM.

It's easy and you'll never get any better if you continue to rely on others. You should be backing up your phone on a regular basis whether you are getting a new phone or not.

If you go to an Apple store to purchase your new phone, they'll do everything right there for you.
