iPod Touch/Apple id sign in ?

I just got a Touch yesterday. I thought when I signed into the apps store, my signin password showed the letter then immediately turned it into a dot. This morning, it is leaving the text of the signin password showing. Could someone who has a Touch let me know if you still see the dots or the whole password text when signing in today? I don't know if they changed it or if I have a problem with security. TIA
