iPhone with Tracfone or Straight Talk

Does anyone have service for their iPhones through either of these companies? What do you think?

Without really knowing what I'm talking about about, my guess would be that it wouldn't work because these other providers use the Android operating system and iPhone doesn't.

I’ve used Straight Talk with my iPhone for years. I have had no problems. ST was the 3rd or 4th no contract plan I tried. If the others had been good I would have stayed with them.

I have an iPhone 6 with service through Tracfone.  No problems and a lot less expensive than AT&T.

Re: iPhone with Tracfone or Straight Talk

I love my iphone 6.  About 1 1/2 years ago I upgraded from the iphone 5.

I will sometime within the next few months get the iphone 8, probably skipping the 7.

My son-in-law owns a business where he knows everything about computers.  My late husband owned a computer business so we've always been involved with them some way.  Now ask me what I know about them....(very little)  Ha!

Anyway, my dear friend still has a flip phone that I kid her and say "Jesus made it when he was here on earth".  Ha!  It is so old, very, very thick and doesn't do anything.  She has tons of money but is afraid of technology.

I keep telling her I could text her instead of always calling her and vice- versa.  I've offered to give her my iphone 5 and she thinks it will be too complicated....what???

Anyway, that's my story.

The operating system on the phone is separate than the cellular network type. You can't cross cellular network types, which is why a phone bought through Verizon which uses CDMA can't be used on AT&T who uses GSM for example. But the operating system on an iphone is always IOS regardless of the cellular carrier.

Tracfone and Straight Talk both now sell iPhones to be used with their services. Looks like a great idea, just wasn't sure how it worked. I'm glad to hear some good feedback!

Do you have a monthly plan or just pay as you go? Did you purchase your iPhone through Tracfone? Thank you!

I don’t recommend buying an iPhone from ST - unless they have changed the ones they offer. The last time I checked, they only sold the one with the least amount of memory and it wasn’t much.

I suggest buying the phone from Apple.

If this is your first iPhone, please go to your local wireless store, and buy.
