Hi!

I am looking for answers from the "gurus" here! There are some things I just cannot do on my iPad...

1) Picture editing using something as specific as Paint? Using a MAC/APPLE app?

2) Changing size and colors of fonts -- to post here on the forum or to write email messages?

3) Paragraph indentation

4) I am trying to decide if I would like to purchase a MAC laptop. Are these issues present in that type of device? And do I need to purchase some program for using Microsoft Word docs, excel, etc?

I'll try to answer at least a few points, for starters.

1) There's limited photo editing in the native "Photos" app that comes installed on the iPad, and extensive editing available in numerous free apps.

2) You can easily use various font sizes, colors, types, etc. in just about everything you do on an iPad (sometimes using special apps), including email, with the exception of posting here on the Community forums. QVC hasn't made their forums iPad-compatible, so you get a tiny font with no formatting unless you learn to insert HTML code (there are several threads here with instructions for that).

3) #2 refers to paragraphs, also.

4) A Mac laptop doesn't come with Word or Excel (the Apple equivalents are "Pages" and "Numbers"), so that would be extra, but it has all the basic features and functions a Windows-based computer has, and in most cases mirrors all the things an iPad can do.

Thank you, doobdoo... I don't mind purchasing the additional software... just not sure where to look.

It is good to know that the iPad is just not compatible with the forums here, and that nothing I have done/or can do changes this. Yes, your information does help!

You're welcome, lovestoteach! Once you have the laptop, it's easy to get additional software. You can ask Apple support, or ask here in the forums. If you'd like, I could list all of the free photo-editing apps I use, but 2 favorites right now are Aviary and Snapseed. I could locate and post the link to the "How-to" regarding formatting iPad posts here in the Community, if you're interested in that.*

In your question #2, text modification availability might depend upon which email provider you use and how you access it on the iPad (via Safari, or the native Mail app, or the provider's email app). Also, there are apps which allow you more creativity in writing email messages. Generally, though, you can select text by pressing with your finger or stylus and using the pop-up to get bold, underline, or italics.
