Hey Doglover! ![]()
I think that type of external hard drive is one that has software in it to automatically back up certain types of files/folders at certain, pre-determined, intervals. That is why you keep that type of hard drive plugged in.
I don't have those so I keep mine in their cases and just manually copy stuff over that I want to back up, at intervals of my own choosing.
But I'm pretty sure that you can copy some files from one computer onto your hard drive, manually, then plug it into your new computer and copy those files onto the new one. Then you'll also always have those two files (speaking of the solitaire/Win7 games files - there are two of them you'll need) available in the event that you get another computer.
I also saved the link for that YouTube video on my external and on at least one computer.
That way I didn't have to search for it again.
HOpe all that made sense.
ETA - the only thing I don't know for sure is if each time the Click-Free hard drives delete everything each time it updates itself and then replaces it. But if you save those files in 'My Documents' and it is set to back up your 'My Documents' folder, then it will always be available on both your computer and the external.

chickenbutt, I too saved that link since I will have to watch it several times.
I have been happy with my click free. I do get updates from them and do update. I keep my recipes on a flash drive since I lost them all before when my first computer crashed and I didn't have anything, no click free and no flash drives so I lost everything.
Yes, do think I should keep my latest/largest click free plugged on since it only updates new things.
What I am not sure about though is when I get e mails that I immediately delete is all that junk going into my click free before I can delete it?
