I just downloaded windows 10 late last night. I use to play a lot of solitaire when I couldn't sleep so I had it on my lower task bar and all I had to do was click onto it. It is no longer there but everything else that was there is still there, just not that?
I have tried to find it, no luck.
another question, in the lower left hand corner I could open a search to find my things, no longer there for that either?
any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

thank you, found one that way. While it isn't exactly like the one I had on windows 7 it is okay. I just wish I could have gotten back the one I had from years ago when I had XP and windows 7.
I don't understand why that is the only thing that is gone. All my other icons etc are still there other than that one?

Yeah, unfortunately, they took away all the games that they had prior to Windows 8.
When I got my first Win8 computer I was extremely disappointed because I also play a lot of solitaire.
The good news is that there is a way to get it from one of your older computers (Win7 or older) and put it on your new computer. I did this and couldn't be more pleased to have the regular game back.
There is a guy who has a video that explains how to do that. It's super easy and just takes a couple of minutes.
HERE is the video if you're interested.
Since Win7 I've also been hating that they took away the 'Quick Launch' bar in the bottom taskbar. So I also found a link to add that back in. It's also super easy if anybody wants to do that.

thanks so much chickenbutt, very glad to hear I can get it back. I did get a decent one on the Microsoft site but does have ads like most of their games.
I have/had windows 7 and this is very different and will take some time to get use to.
I am still trying to find a way to clear cookies, cache, history etc so, will take some time.

I am going to wait until I get a new computer with win10 loaded on it. Meanwhile I still have 8.1 and windows7 on two of my laptops. I tried several times to upgrade both these computers and all it did was spin and spin and was unable to load. I am glad it did not work on my computers reviews are mixed and a lot of people are still having problems with it.

Glad to help. Another word to the wise - This guy on the video talks a lot. So, what I did was go to through most of the video only watching/listening and then I went back to actually do it. I would pause the video between steps and that helped a lot.
I also, instead of saving the Window 7 Games on the new computer, initially, saved it onto an external source (external hard drive or flash drive - I have both). That seemed easier because sometimes I have a hard time with going directly between two computers since they started with that stupid 'Homegroup' thing. So I saved the two files that it shows you how to find on one of my external hard drives and then plugged the drive into the new computer and copied the two files onto the computer.
Hope that didn't make it seem more confusing. It's actually easy and quick.
I've done it on two different new computers by now and it's nice just having the files already on the external hard drive so I didn't have to find them, so the second one went even faster.

If you want to install the windows 7 version of solitaire check out this link. I am using the old Spider Solitaire and Mahjong Titans on my Win 10 laptop.

I don't know if I am suppose to leave one plugged in all the time though or as I now do, just plug one in every month and update?
