We have had Dish Network for about 20 years now. My biggest complaint is when they dropped Madison Square Garden Network, the home of my New York Rangers NHL Team. They still do not carry it, but I have access to almost all their games via Dish Optional programming available.
I wouldn't "cut the cord" even if I could. Since our home is wired with copper wire(what I did for close to 30 years), our DSL speed is limited. While we can stream, even 4k, it is far from even close to recording satellite programs.
And since we DVR all our programs? I would have to buy a DVR, and I don't know of any that can record up to 16 shows simultaneously, while watching a 17th. Not even sure if you can record streaming programs, to me that defeats the purpose of steaming.
Two of my friends decided to "cut the cord". After about a year or more, they realized streaming from several services to watch shows they preferred? Cost them more monthly than with their TV providers. They both "reconnected the cord".
My entertainment is our home theater, and I am able to get everything I want with Dish Network and our Hopper 3. To me it is a reasonable price for me to build a great "time shifted" Library of only shows I want to watch, minus commercials.
