YouTube TV, Hulu Live, DirectTV Stream

Do you have--or have you had--any of these streaming services?  Opinions?  We are currently in a dispute with DISH right now and may pay an early termination fee just to be rid of them.  There are missing channels that we watch on each of these platforms, so we will be losing something no matter which one we choose.  TIA!

We have Hulu Live and have no problems. It also comes with ESPN + and Disney Plus for the same price.

I've tried several streaming services since I cut the cord 4 years ago.  So far, I like YouTubeTV by far the best.  In addition, I also have Netflix, Amazon Video and Discovery+ (which I need to cancel as I rarely watch).

We have Hulu live and like it now that we've gotten used to the interface. When we first got it, it would be glitchy on the iPad, but they've finally fixed that. We have Disney+ and ESPN+ through it but rarely watch. Otherwise it has most of the channels we watch.

@Ainhisg

We have had Dish Network for about 20 years now. My biggest complaint is when they dropped Madison Square Garden Network, the home of my New York Rangers NHL Team. They still do not carry it, but I have access to almost all their games via Dish Optional programming available.

I wouldn't "cut the cord" even if I could. Since our home is wired with copper wire(what I did for close to 30 years), our DSL speed is limited. While we can stream, even 4k, it is far from even close to recording satellite programs.

And since we DVR all our programs?  I would have to buy a DVR, and I don't know of any that can record up to 16 shows simultaneously, while watching a 17th. Not even sure if you can record streaming programs, to me that defeats the purpose of steaming.

Two of my friends decided to "cut the cord". After about a year or more, they realized streaming from several services to watch shows they preferred? Cost them more monthly than with their TV providers. They both "reconnected the cord".

My entertainment is our home theater, and I am able to get everything I want with Dish Network and our Hopper 3. To me it is a reasonable price for me to build a great "time shifted" Library of only shows I want to watch, minus commercials.

I have Verizon Fios for my internet and have HULU LIVE. I have the one with ads, they just raised the price $5 to about $75. I would prefer to have cable tv, HULU is a little less expensive. Before you decide on a streaming platform for your tv viewing, make sure you compare channels offered and compare the pros and cons.

@Ainhisg  We have been streaming for a while.  We have Xfinity and stream their channels, along with the amazon fire stick, and Roku, Disney + (for the grands).  Thinking about adding some others.  Left cable years ago.  Got tired of fighting them.  I know there are some that think streaming is difficult and it's not as easy as cable, it's complicated...uh no it's not.  And once you find the streaming service that has what you want you're gold.  You can always get other "sticks" for more channels.  They sell them all over.

Re: YouTube TV, Hulu Live, DirectTV Stream

@hckynutjohn  I can record movies, my shows, set to record multiple TV series, Go into the future to record an upcoming show and delete them after watching etc all through my streaming service. :-).  I pay less than what Comcast was charging me for their service.  But that's why there is still cable/vs streaming choices out there.  Whatever works for what you want to watch.  I found it just amounts to the channels and stuff you like and who can provide it.  The two cable choices we had (Comcast and Dish) were both horrible for us.  They had a bunch of channels we didn't like and they kept cutting the few we did.  So we did a lot of research and paid attention to the chanels we like and then made our decisions from that.  :-).

@Jordan2 OP here... Hulu Live is showing that it is $70 for me (a new subscriber).  I wonder if a price hike is coming in a few months for new subscribers if it's happening to you now...

We have YouTubeTV after 20+ years with DirectTV.  No complaints at all!

I am also an Amazon Prime member, and watch a lot on that streaming service, as well as Britbox and AppleTV.  This is our entertainment.  We no longer go to concerts or movie theaters.
