Windows 11 drop-down menu issue fixed!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been having an issue with the drop-down menus in everything in Windows 11 (start menu and everything else) automatically scrolling to the bottom. Lots of online searching brought no solution. System file checks showed everything to be fine. No errors were found anywhere. Malware scans showed no issue. Everything seemed fine but using the menus was a real pain. You could scroll up them but as soon as you stopped the menu would scroll quickly back to the bottom. If you wanted to click on something higher up, you had to time it just right as the menu wouldn't pause. It was hitting a moving target to click on anything higher up in the menu.

I'd changed nothing in my computer in that time and no one else seemed to be having this same issue. Was it my mouse? Maybe. I had a wireless mouse connected also that had been there since I moved here last June and the problem persisted with it. Well, that's weird! Fooling around this morning I pulled the battery from the wireless mouse and still had the issue. Dang! Then I thought, "Well, since I'm not using the wireless mouse anyway, I might as well uninstall it." Miracle of miracles, that fixed the issue!

I'm not sure why simply pulling the battery from the mouse didn't work, but uninstalling the wireless mouse in Windows fixed the issue and I'm back to how things should be. Why did the issue just start recently? God only knows. Both mice have been in use this way for almost a year here and for several years back at my old house with no issues. For whatever reason, Windows decided it was an issue now. I'm just glad it's fixed. If you ever find yourself in a similar spot, just delete your mice, start over and the problem may go away. Or it may not.

Eek it's a mouse! LOL. I have to ask - was it a Logitech mouse? I feel your pain because I had the same problem with my Logitech wireless mouse. So hard to try and use my laptop with those shenanigans going on. Drove me crazy until finally fixed!

Not a Logitech mouse. Just an annoying little issue that I couldn't fix. I didn't think it was the mouse as they'd been set up and in use like this for years with no trouble. It's very annoying though. I'm very happy it got fixed. It's not a common issue as I could find no one who'd had the problem and found a fix. And I looked everywhere using every description I could imagine to try and find someone else who'd had the problem and found a solution.
