Will the heat from fireplace cook my TV?

We wall mounted our new 55" Sony on the brick fireplace and there seems to be an extreme amount of heat hitting the bottom of the TV. We called sony and they didn't seem to be concerned about this, but I'm not really sure they understood the discussion. Has anyone had this concern and what did they do about it? I mean this can't be very good for the TV.
