I just got a new phone from Tracfone on Friday. I'm not planning on activating it quite yet, but I have been playing around with the phone to check out its features. Seems like everytime I turn it on, however, a call from *22899 keeps trying to get through. I hang up immediately and have even tried to block it, but no success. I called Tracfone to see if it might be from them (saw online that this number might be them calling me to activate the phone), but they didn't know what it was. Was also told that the reason my blocking the number didn't work was because I needed to activate the phone first. Whatever. Anyway, just checking on here to see if anyone knows what this number has to do with and why I keep getting calls from it. Thanks.

I googled that # and the results are that it is basically updating the software on your phone? I guess you're supposed to answer it so they can check the phone?

@YorkieonmyPillow--That's what is looked like to me when I researched it too, but I'm not 100 percent sure about it. Anyway, I finally went ahead and activated my phone so that the block I placed on that number could go into effect. Guess I'm being overly cautious but that's just how I am.

*22899 actually may come in handy down the road. If you are having trouble with your phone you can call it and it will reset your phone and solve most problems. In most cases it keeps you from having to call someone to fix a problem. It was doing it to begin with so was setting up your software so don't block it. It will never call you back but you may call it
