I've been trying to block spam emails in Outlook and hasn't worked the last few days. Did something change that makes it difficult to block? I'd appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.

Click on the mail from the sender you want to block. Then click on Junk up near the top of the page, 3 options will come up including Block, click on it.

I noticed, a month or so ago, that when I block them they just go to my Junk folder. They used to be totally blocked.

Hhhmmm, well I haven't paid all that much attention as to whether the same ones come back so will have to keep an eye on that. Sometimes instead of Block I click on Report then a thank you thingie or a notice it's been reported pops up. Not sure if reporting it works any better to keep them away for good. Used to be that there was a page you could navigate to and type in the e-mail of the offender and then add it to your list. Guess that's no longer available as I haven't been able to find it in a long time. My list was as long as my arm.

I haven't seen a change in my Outlook mail, but they've been "tweaking" the software and that might account for discrepancies with some accounts.
I've found that blocking works best by going into: "Settings" --> "View all Outlook settings" --> "Mail"--> "Junk email" --> "Blocked senders and domains."
You can block an individual email address or an entire domain -- if you know you don't want to receive any mail from a specific domain (the info that follows the "@" sign), you have the option to block it.
Enter the address or domain, enter "return" to add it to the list, and be sure to click/tap "SAVE."
If that seems not to work, it's a good idea to learn how to look at the full headers -- sometimes the sender isn't actually the one you think it is, and the full headers display the various domains involved in sending a message. You'll find it under "View message source" in the same menu that lists things like "reply," "reply all," etc.
For the persistent spam that keeps changing sender address/domain, it can be helpful to use filters, which are called "Rules" in Outlook mail. (Found in "Settings" --> "View all Outlook settings" --> "Mail" --> "Rules.")

I know your reply wasn't directly to me but I want to thank you anyway. I followed your directions and VOILA, that's the way I used to do it but either they changed the route (so to speak) to get there or I forgot how. Some of us would stay lost if wasn't for you!
