What is this computer term called?

You try to click on a link and a yellow blob with a red exclamation point pops up and slaps the hand. You hit control and it lets you go to the link.

Re: What is this computer term called?

IDK but guessing it is a warning of some kind or alert. I've seen that myself and would not want to go to the link as it could have a virus.

Which reminds me to go check my desktop to see if it has Windows XP which I think it does. Today is when Microsoft will stop sending updates and that leaves it open for all kinds of bad things to happen.

Google search and you can find out about Windows XP if you care to and you could probably find out what that means by checking the system information that came with your computer.

Activate X control? It should tell you the name of the term at the top of the pop up, or somewhere within.

It might be an option selected in your security software. I have McAfee and yesterday I added an option which tells me which sites are OK. My software uses green checkmarks to do this.

Could be a popup blocker.

It's a site warning from McAfree. It's pops up to stop you from a potentially dangerous webpage.
