Re: Well, that little experiment saved me some money, no I Pad for me

When it comes to tablets iPad is by far my favorite. I've done my own personal tests and the iPad had far fewer crashes while surfing the net than the androids. I bought a Samsung Galaxy tablet at the same time as the iPad and it also took longer to access the WiFi each time I tried.

I don't think I'm biased because I also own a Windows laptop and desktop, an android tablet, a Nook Color HD (another Android,) and a Samsung Galaxy S5 (smartphone.) I sometimes have to use my hubby's Windows phone too. I like all of them for different reasons except the one Android tablet that is old and I no longer use at all. I really like my Android phones and the iPhone just couldn't compete for me. I wanted to like it but still liked my Android better!

I love the Swype keyboard on my Android devices and plan to research a little more about the IOS upgrade so I can put that on my iPad!!! I can't believe it took them so long to get that "app." It was probably my biggest complaint about iPads/iPhones Smiley Wink

Funny thing is that most, if not all of these devices have great speech to text functions. I was really surprised that speaking didn't result in a lot more errors and in fact there were FEWER errors! But it's not always possible to talk out loud. Other people don't want to hear your messages. So most of the time I still type. But I'm looking forward to putting Swype on my iPad!!! WooHoo!!

You hit a key and something else appears on the screen. If I type the word today, I have to go back and change the S that appears back to an a in the word today. It's very annoying. I much prefer to send emails now using a laptop.

This was happening to me as well and I turned off the auto correct in settings - general, which I did. It worked for me and I haven't had any problems since.
