Re: Well, that little experiment saved me some money, no I Pad for me

I did something similar, jojobeans. I already had an extra wireless keyboard for my iMac when I got my iPad and I expected it to be better and easier to use. What happened? After a few days of using the virtual keyboard and the built-in voice features, I set the wireless one aside and never used it again.

I'm very pleased with my iPad, too. Absolutely, unequivocally.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I have a strap that attaches to my iPad with a clamp so I hold it in the palm of my hand with no effort. Great for arthritic fingers. I kick back in my recliner with iPad and surf the Internet to my heart's content. Love this thing.

The 13"" size and the keyboard are 2 things I really like about my Chromebook.

I love the IPad, but it fails miserably on it's keyboard. It's not just mine either. I've seen this error on other posts that was typed from an IPad. You hit a key and something else appears on the screen. If I type the word today, I have to go back and change the S that appears back to an a in the word today. It's very annoying. I much prefer to send emails now using a laptop.

Same here. And I have bought external keyboards and used them, but ended up just going back to 1-finger typing. I type about 30 wpm with that one finger, about 90wpm with two hands ;-)

Hi, BlingQueen! I use my iPad constantly, have done so for a couple of years since buying it. While the auto-correct sometimes does get frustrating, I can usually understand why it "went there." It sounds like you might have a problem specific to your device that needs troubleshooting -- maybe something in the keyboard settings, for example? (I just tried the word "today" several times in several applications, and I can't even make it try to auto-correct the word with an "s".) If you'll let us know more about it, perhaps one of us can help.

I love my ipad too, and really have no problem typing on it.

Yes, it's different, so, sure, some practice makes it easier.

I recently, since the ios8 update, installed the Swype keyboard on both ipad and iphone.

I got used to Swype when I had my Galaxy S3, and I really like it. Not foolproof, of course, but, it's faster, for me.

Hi there DooBDoo. Love your nic. I used my mom's keyboard in her IPad and it does the same thing. It probably is a setting in my keyboard. I'll have to find out why it's doing that. In the meantime, I plan in getting the new IPad that's coming out in October. I don't have enough memory to download the new update and this is a 32 gig IPad. The new one will definitely be a 64 gig this time. I'll surely check out this problem because I want to give my dad my old IPad.

I am not a germaphobe normally, but doesn't anybody else think using an iPad in a Dr.'s office for everybody to register on is totally disgusting? In fact, most people's tablet/phone screens I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole!

Re: Well, that little experiment saved me some money, no I Pad for me

I have no trouble typing on an iPad but to type correctly I have to hold it and type with one hand OR support it on a wedge and type with two hands. Before having my first iPad I expected to hate typing, but really, no big deal.
