I am not a germaphobe normally, but doesn't anybody else think using an iPad in a Dr.'s office for everybody to register on is totally disgusting? In fact, most people's tablet/phone screens I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole!

i hope they had wipes available.

I know what you mean, but it's no worse than picking up the community pen and signed the sign in sheet which everyone has touched. I always use my own pen though.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

That's what I was thinking! I doubt an iPad has more or less germs than everything else we've been touching in a doctor's office all these years.

You hit a key and something else appears on the screen. If I type the word today, I have to go back and change the S that appears back to an a in the word today. It's very annoying. I much prefer to send emails now using a laptop.

Hi, BlingQueen! I use my iPad constantly, have done so for a couple of years since buying it. While the auto-correct sometimes does get frustrating, I can usually understand why it "went there." It sounds like you might have a problem specific to your device that needs troubleshooting -- maybe something in the keyboard settings, for example? (I just tried the word "today" several times in several applications, and I can't even make it try to auto-correct the word with an "s".) If you'll let us know more about it, perhaps one of us can help.

Hi there DooBDoo. Love your nic. I used my mom's keyboard in her IPad and it does the same thing. It probably is a setting in my keyboard. I'll have to find out why it's doing that. In the meantime, I plan in getting the new IPad that's coming out in October. I don't have enough memory to download the new update and this is a 32 gig IPad. The new one will definitely be a 64 gig this time. I'll surely check out this problem because I want to give my dad my old IPad.

Thanks! I love your nic, too! I've been attracted to sparkly things all my life!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Hope you can resolve the keyboard problem. Whatever is causing it, it does sound like a pain in the neck.

I got an external keypad with a nice little case -- kind of like a mini laptop. Since I got it, I haven't opened my laptop -- don't even know where it is. It's so nice to bring to coffee shops, etc. I love it.

I love my Anker brand keyboard from Amazon. The rechargeable one is about $25 and the one that requires batteries is about $20. If I have to do more than a simple web search, I pull out that little Bluetooth keyboard. I don't like the on-screen keyboard at all.

I use a Logitech keyboard folio with my iPad. I don't like typing on the touch screen either.

Filling out forms is a pain without a real keyboard. However on the Kindle HDX, you can dictate anything you want to type. It is much easier than actually typing. So you just say what you want to post.

Since I'm not into IPads, I don't know if they have this feature or not but I would think they would have it.

Hi, mima! Yes, iPads and iPhones (and Macs) have had a voice-to-text feature for a few years. As mentioned in a couple of the posts here, it's a helpful one.
