Hi..I had a very tramatic day today...lol..

I was looking up a movie review and all of a sudden a pop up appears for Sun Java. I close that and then I get multiple popups for Vista Security 2011...Well I knew that was bogus ..but I can see how it fools people because it looked just like the Windows Vista security page..

I close them down and then all my icons on the right side of the tool bar disappear...except for my speaker icon and the internet icon...and a new one appeared..in the shape of a shield..

OH OH figure I'd better do a Malwarebytes scan...no luck..can't open it..can't open AVG..can't open Superantispyware...can't open msconfig to see if I had something put into my startup...nothing..Can't get onto the internet...

So I shut down my computer...wait..start it up again...popups for Vista Security 2011 again..it starts to run a scan to "show" me all "viruses"..etc...again I close that down and wait a minute..they don't open back up again..I tried starting in "safe mode"...same things going on there as in normal mode..(popups) I close down my computer again...

I then go online on another computer of mine to find the "cure"...

It looks like I have to download Malwarebytes on a thumb drive and then run it that way from a USB port on the infected computer...but I try something else first..

I start the infected desktop again and again get the popups and close those down and try to get into the Maintenance of the computer to see if I can do a restore to a point from last week...3/30/11 when I had last done a Malwarebytes scan and came out clean...that worked...the computer restarted and was working fine..

I did the malwarbytes scan and came up with two infections..a rogue.installer and a trojan.fake.alert for Sun Java...got rid of those, they are now in quarintine in malwarebytes...everything working fine..I run AVG...Malwarebytes (for the second time) and Superantispyware and all come out clean..only a few tracking cookies on AVG and Superantispyware..

My question is..am I ok now...?...Should I worry ....I'm so conservative on where I go with my computer..I don't even belong to Facebook or Twitter...thanks...DW
