VidyoWeb question

[ Edited ]

Thought I would check with the tech experts here.

I'm going to have a televisit with my doctor that requires installation of a VidyoWeb extension and a download of VidyoWeb plugin.  I never heard of VidyoWeb and I'm concerned that it's not safe.  And what do those two sentences mean after "It can:"? (sounds ominous to me) Anyone?

"Add VidyoWeb Connector?

It can:

Read and change all your data on the websites you visit.

Communicate with cooperating native applications.

Add extension ----   Cancel"

You should be okay. A quick look around the Internet shows they're a real company and have been in business since 2005. You can always delete it after the call if it worries you. It's not an especially common videoconferencing piece of software, but it sounds safe enough.

Thanks @gardenman   But do you know what the sentence "It can read and change all your data on the websites you visit" means?

Is that a standard statement for extensions and plugins?

Thanks @MezzieStarr  That was very helpful.  I don't like the info it provided and therefore won't install VidyoWeb.  I'll tell my doc that the install didn't work.  She doesn't need to see me on this visit -- I only have a simple question about the covid vax.

@Deree I think your approach is very smart. I wouldn't install that either.
