@Ainhisg Thanks so much for your help, I finally got it.  I guess you can no long add an item + 365 days then remove the item leaving the 365 days only.  When I tried that, it wiped out my order.

I just hope it gives the consumer access to good prices on higher end, newer phones. I'm tired of being forced to buy phones that have been on the market for a year.

For instance, the newest LG Stylo is the 5 which has been out for a year. That compares with the Stylo 6 which we can't have from Tracfone for any price.

Verizon has a new prepaid data plan that they introduced about three months ago. You can find a CDMA phone and  then select  a plan.

Stetson Doggett has a YouTube channel which talks about wireless data plans. The video has a.title Verizon's new prepaid and loyalty plan".

Thanks for the idea, but I like buying phones from Tracfone from the Q or HSN with package deals. It's much more convenient that way. So to my way of thinking, Tracfone needs to step up to the plate and offer newer, state of the art phones even if they cost a little more. I don't need a $100 phone anymore, but neither do I want to pay $1000!

How will Verizon keep these Tracfone deals if they are doing away with CDMA & will eventually all be GSM network from what I was just reading?

Verizon does not have prepaid plan like Tracfone. I for one will not be paying $60 - $70 per month to use a cell phone. I don't need it that bad. LOL!!! I basically use my phone for texting so guess I will go back to emails.

Verizon is also phasing out 2G & 3G end of this year.

We already bought new unlocked Nokia phones but does not sound like those will work when Verizon gets finished with all of this which I have no idea how much longer it will take.

If you have a Tracfone that won't work they sent out texts which we never received.

There is an old expression. You get what you pay for.

Verizon post-paid service is good, but expensive.

The company has Pre-Paid service. This summer they introduced a data plan that can cost $35 per line after 9 months.

Verizon will find a provider for all the GSM customers.

Verizon has prepaid plans, they're just pricey prepaid plans compared to Tracfone. Their lowest priced service starts at $40 a month. (After three months you save $5 a month and after nine months you save $10 a month dropping the cost to $25 a month after nine months.) That includes 5gb of data each month and lets you use your phone as a hotspot. If you buy data separately on a Tracfone, you pay $10 per gb, so the price isn't bad if you use a lot of mobile data. If you use 5gb of data a month then you'd be paying Tracfone $50 a month. I don't think most of us use 5gb of mobile data a month though, so it's a higher cost for us. Now that's including 5G data, so there's no extra charge for 5G if you have a phone with that capability.

For those of us who buy a new phone with a year's service for less than $100, paying $40/$25 a month will hurt. We'll have to see what Verizon does in the future for Tracfone customers. Their phone prices are a bit crazy. My Moto G7 Optimo Maxx starts at $240 through Verizon where I paid $90 with a year's service and free earbuds through Tracfone. If they price their phones that high, then unlocked phones from Amazon, Best Buy, or other sources will make more sense.

The marketplace is evolving all of the time and we'll have to see how the Verizon takeover of Tracfone works out. Verizon offers a greater variety of phones, but at higher prices. I don't think they roll over unused data each month, so you get 5gb a month and just 5gb a month on their cheapest plan. If you don't use all 5gb, it's gone. The next month you still only have 5gb.

Why do I feel like this won't be good for Tracfone users? Verizon will somehow figure out a way to mess it up for us, I hope I'm wrong.

@gardenman

Verizon doesn't offer a Pre-Paid 5 G data plan, yet.

LOL, I changed phones last March and the data plan is grandfathered, already. It does give me unlimited 5G service.

How would my metered 4G service work with a

combination  network like DSS?

This October Verizon introduced a new all unlimited data plan. This was after Apple launched  new iPhones running on a combination 4G - 5G Verizon DSS network. It would be hard to meter combined network usage.

Like you said. There is a lot going on with 5G and

I am not going to be concerned, until I need a phone.

On their website they now say their prepaid plans now include nationwide 5G service. An intriguing option is their unlimited data plan at $65 a month. For an extra $5 a month they let you use a hotspot or tether your phone. That would be $70 a month for Internet and phone. You could reduce that by $15 over nine months to $55 a month. That's a pretty good deal if you can get decent 5G speeds. It'll be something to consider when 5G phones get more affordable.

Won't be good for me since like I said I basically use my phone for texting.

I have over 6000 mins & my service ends next month. I use WiFi at home so don't need data.

I'm still not paying $25-$40 per month to send texts since I have only been spending around $125 per year for my service. LOL!!!

I need my computer more than I need a phone. I prefer to spend that money on high speed Internet. I'm not trying to surf the net, look at email or shop etc on a phone.
