As a long time customer of both Comcast & Verizon FIOS (landland, tv, internet), I have nothing to add to what others have said about them.  That being said.......

When your contract is up, NEGOIATE...NEGOIATE...NEGOIATE.

Comcast & FIOS:

Never deal w/the regular customer service reps.  Either negoiate w/a supervisor or a manager.  They are the ones who can authorize better packages.  Last resort, negotiate w/their Retention dept.  They will do flip flops to keep you as a customer if you are a "valued" customer (never/rarely late w/payments and/or a long time customer).

Not advertised both Comcast & Verizon FIOS have senior & low income prices.

Verizon FIOS have "custom" tv packages.  You can pick & choose your tv package.

I currently have Verizon FIOS.  In order to "keep" me as a customer, they renewed my triple play 2 yr contract-Premium HD package w/1 free premium channel (HBO) included & their fastest internet package which they threw in for FREE.  As I have a landline, I never have a phone bill.

My bill is $5 more than it was the previous 2 yrs.

Regarding Verizon billing statement:  There is a "special" toll free number on the back to call to "negotiate" when your contract is up.

"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."
