Upgrade to iPhone or droid?

My 2 yr contract is up. I can get a free iphone 3 GS - 8 GB or a droid or any other they offer...

DH has an iphone and likes it - my daughter and son in law have droid and they like theirs too.

My question is should I get the iphone 3gs and would I be happy with it or wish I had spent 100.00 on the 4 - 8 gb? Or go with a droid? I'd love to read your opinions.

I have a blackberry now, we don't have a landline.I mainly use my bb for talk and text, web surfing is slow and freezes up.
