Updated to High Sierra

[ Edited ]

Now, I lost my 'whoosh' sound when sending emails and the alert notification sound when receiving emails. I got 'Tink' picked out as the 'alert' sound, but, it's silent.

Did updating cut off the going out and comin in sounds ?

Still can hear you tube and QVC sounds

Thanky !

Also, is there a charge for 'keynote', 'pages', 'numbers' and 'Imovie' ?

They want me to install and I figure it's not free, so, I'm not paying any

attention to the # 4 that's showing in my update tray.

@SharkE

Run Disk Utility First Aid.  Restart your comp afterwards.

If still having issues, go to System Preferences>Sound>Sound Effects.

Make sure Tink is selected and restart your comp.

I don't use Mail hate it.  Until a Mail user can respond, suggest that you do the following.....

Check Apple's Knowledge Base articles regarding your Mail issue.

Do a Google search for solutions.

Post in Apple's High Sierra/Mail forums.

I use Gmail.

Got the incoming Tink back when I sent myself an email to another one of my email accounts instead of the gmail. I replied to myself and it's tinking again.

Got the whoosh and the tink LOL

Used to have that outgoing message meter at the bottom of the left hand side showing how long it was taking to send out an email, but, I can get by without it.

I still keep 2 Windows 10 laptops. Last update they installed 'Bonjour' I caught it in the control panel and deleted it. Have to watch Windows like a hawk why I switched to apple for the main pc.

I don't want I Cloud that came in on the upgrade to High Sierra now I have to figure out how to get rid of it. I want all my pictures in my own computer not stored elsewhere.

I've got a MacBook Air, and keynote, pages, numbers and imovie are free on mine.  You might want to Google and see if they're free for you, too.  They were already installed when I bought my computer.  I do the updates for pages, which is the only one I use.
