When I tried to post a photo, a message popped up: Max file size 3,072K. This file 5,855K.

Pixels? Why is this photo differerent than all the others I've taken and posted? Is there any way to fix it?

Are you posting a photo you took, or one found on the internet?  I suspect the former would be larger files / better quality.

Taken with my phone. But I've posted from my phone before with no problem. Not a particularly complex photo.

I use Adobe Photoshop to resize photos that are too large. There's a free site online I also use to post photos. Google post images. It should come right up. I don't login or have an account since you can use it without doing that. I pick 640x480 message boards in first box, I don't change anything in second box. Now you have to find where you have the picture saved so you can upload it. After you upload the pic go down the page & click on the right side of the page where the blue is in the little box to copy the link. Choose the second one that says Direct Link. Now you should be able to paste it here. Hope it works for you.

5,855k is a big picture. When I post pictures they are closer to 500k. Depending on the camera and it's megapixel size, the more mp, the bigger the photo.

I seldom post pictures because I use my tablet and cannot access my pictures with it. Maybe website pictures, but I only post pictures my wife/myself or someone else we know has taken. 

I don't even remember how to post one in a post, that's how long it's been. With all my long text, imagine me throwing in a 3,000k picture!
