You can buy a Tracfone anywhere electronics are sold, not just QVC or HSN.

@neetsPA Here's a picture of where to look for what type of phone. To the left of the bars it would say 3G or LTE as long as your wifi isn't on. It does need to be "awake". If it says 2G you need to change it. If you're really not sure I would go into a Walmart and they can help you.

 

This pic is a little small but in this example it says LTE there.

pigletsmom, you are an angel! I just got off a chat on Tracfone again and was assured that my phone is 4G. Your illustration and guidance clinched the deal. I hadn't seen the 4G because Wi-Fi was on. Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease.

Hedge, thanks for your input. It made me investigate further, and now I know for sure that my phone is 4G.  It wasn't a broadcast text but a message that showed on my account page when I was checking it.

software, I know that, but thanks. It's just usually a better deal on QVC or HSN. Fortunately, I don't need to purchase a new phone, after all. I appreciate you responding to my post.
