@leigh - It does seem that things have become a bit more of a "challenge" since Verizon bought out Tracfone.

I don't know whether it's because my DH and I have had online accounts set up for about 20 years that we haven't run into these issues. I can go in and look at every phone I've had, although even that isn't as straightforward as it used to be.

I guess it's the merging of two systems that's causing the kinks. I hope you get it sorted out soon.

At the end of last year, I added an additional year of service to both of our phones for $49 with no problem, but it seems now people are having trouble with that, too, and the price may have gone up.

Tracfone has a bunch of different options these days. For just a one-year renewal with no minutes or texts/data, you can find cards on eBay for $59.99. A one-year card with 1500 minutes only, no texts or data is around $79.99. And the one-year card with 1500 minutes, 1500 texts, and 1.5 GB data is $124.99. (Bear in mind this is the offer you get with the Moto G Stylus that you can get the phone and card for $99 at HSN right now. So, you save $25 and get the phone for free.)

Try this: go to their website, then click on "Shop".

Second column over: "Plans & Service", click on "Plan Add-Ons".

That should show you a screen where you enter your phone number and then can click on the texts or other add-ons and add them to your cart for checkout.

@Venezia, that's how I usually do it too. It's very easy. At least it has been so far. I'll see soon when I get my new phone.

They did update their website and you have to scout around to find things. And I HATE all the pop-ups....but I finally figured out how to add minutes/data you have to shop plans you still dont have to do auto-refill just dont initiate or click that option. GOOD LUCK!

@Spurt yep, I've also had to go about it the same way as you, it's a very convoluted/ complicated way of doing it and drives me crazy lol, but so far knock on wood it works! Glad I saw this thread, I was wondering WTH was going on with TracFone past couple months ugh!
