Be sure that the carrier used for the phone you are interested in has good signals in your area.

For example, ATT has good coverage in most areas but not all areas. You need to be aware of the best coverage where you will be using your phone. The phone can be a good price and the airtime & data can be a good price, but it's not much good if you don't have good coverage/signal.
