The southern channel has the LG Ultimate 2 today for $89.95 on 3 flex pays with 1200 minutes.  It is probably for a limited time because I bought it for this price a month or so ago then it went back to $ 119.99.  If you miss the sale then keep watching for it because it probably will go on sale again.

Maybe I should start a new thread but since this one says Tracfone I thought I'd give it a try. I know some of you are experienced Tracfone users so I hope you can help me.

I'm getting ready to activate the phone I bought when it was the Today's Special a few weeks ago. Should I just use the website or is it better to call for activation?

My most important question is this  ~ I want to see how the Tracfone works but I don't want to port my number from my current provider (Verizon) until I see how I like it.  So...can I activate the Tracfone with the number they provide and port my number later, or do I have to activate with the number I want to eventually port from Verizon?

I not too good at being succinct so I hope that made sense!

i set mine up through the computer and didn't need to call. you should check their website for your porting question. they may have a live chat or frequently asked question column.  it was all very easy and i'm not tec-savvy. i did port mine from another tracphone, too.

@10sluvr ~ thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. I'll take your advice and check on the question about porting at the website. Woman Happy

Yes, that Ultimate 2 on HSN was a good deal. Now, there's another issue: a bill was introduced the other day to essentially kill the prepaid phone option by requiring ID (AND RECORD-KEEPING) at the point of purchase. How that would work for these shopping channel purchases, I don't know, but I sure wouldn't be sharing identifying info. Also, I'd wager that most prospective buyers would balk at handing over private info to a random store employee.
How much pain they have cost us, the evils that never happened.
