The gesture navigation isn't a decision of the phone manufacturers, it's Google's. Beginning with Android 10, Samsung, LG, and Motorola, as well as others, ship with gesture navigation as the default.
I'm 66, and didn't have any problem learning the new gestures. Used it and got used to it.

I would keep this phone and find a work around.

Stetson Doggett - his YouTube channel focus on data plans. He has an video to help folks buy an IPhone.
