Tracfone Galaxy Prime TSV question.....

I am looking for some recommendations and answers.  I just received the TSV Tracfone and I am in the process of transferring my old number over...it is in process.

I have NEVER owned a smart phone/android but this phone struck my fancy; all is new to me.  I currently am using a 7 year old flip phone.   I have never used an App. WHAT IS A WIDGET and how are they used?  Are they different than Apps?  I am trying to customize my phone.  The problem isn't the phone, it is me getting to know and get accustomed to this new technology.  Any advice appreciated on useful apps.

I think a good place for you to start would be with a beginning book on android phones.  There are several choices on Amazon or at a local book store...Android Phones for Dummies, Help Me Guide to Androids for Seniors, Teach Yourself Visually Android Phones and Tablets, etc.

Re: Tracfone Galaxy Prime TSV question.....

I also received the TSV tracfone which was also my first smartphone.  I found reading the instruction/guides included with the phone very helpful. Also I told myself I would tackle just one feature at a time.  Setting up contacts was first. Then I set up my Google account. I am now learning how to send & receive texts. I found it helpful to go out & buy a stylus to use instead of my fingers which always hit the wrong keys.   Good luck - these forums have lots of helpful people if you get stuck.

Re: Tracfone Galaxy Prime TSV question.....

Thank you all. I did download the manual but I am afraid to do something wrong.  The hardest thing is to know what there is a charge for and wht there isn't.  Also, the manual is extremely useful but PEOPLE usually know the ins and outs.

Q has the best users and SO helpful.

@klajfakj

What "charge" concerns you when you say "what there is a charge for and what there isn't"?

Minutes are always minutes, no matter who you call and where they are located. If you text, depending on the length of you text, it could subtract more than 1 text.

As far as data. If you are anywhere you CAN CONNECT  to WIFI, it will not use any of your data. Make sure you have wifi at home and make sure you are connected to it. No data used.

If in doubt, look up your phone record and it will tell you how many minutes/texts and data has been used, and how many of each you have left.

You may have to download that app from Tracfone. Not sure with the phone you have or are getting.

Re: Tracfone Galaxy Prime TSV question.....

@klajfakj  Hello, please tell me which Prime phone you have.  Is it the Grand Prime or the Core Prime?   It may be the Core Prime is sold at HSN.

I'm not sure.  The different phone names can be confusing after a while.

Thank you.

When need help with a smartphone etc. I do a Google search and look for YouTube videos on the product.

E229696 Please find this phone and all the PDF files for help.

Samsung has the best service manuals. This book will explain what an "App" is, and a "Widget".  What the icons mean on the phone's display? http://s7.vzw.com/is/content/VerizonWireless/assets/userguides/samsung/samsung-galaxy-core-prime-ug-...

Re: Tracfone Galaxy Prime TSV question.....

Well, I woke up this AM and I guess I am still in limbo.  My phone number transfer says it is still in processing.  To answer some questions, I purchased the Samsung Grand Prime that QVC just had as their TSV.

Afraid of being charged:  I tried to update the weather icon that came loaded on the phone home page and I got a message saysing something like their may be charges for something.  I did not update this as I thought I might be charged for something.

Question: Is their a way to SAVE the presentations on QVC for the product?  Each time they had a presentation, something new was discussed, but the presentation videos change each time.  I was wondering if their was a way to save each presentation segment on QVC?

Thank you ALL!!

@klajfakj

When you say the word charge are you talking $$$ charges for using your phone? Or are you meaning charge as in charging the battery in your phone?

I typed a big list of how Tracfone works when it comes to "charge",  meaning money, not as in charging a battery. Did you read my last post? If not, good luck.
