Our son just had his house broken into and all electronics were stolen. Of course TV, stereo equipment etc can be replaced but also taken were his hard drives. Like he said, 15 years of my life is gone. He has gone through changing of all financial records, bank accounts, etc including passwords. It will be a miracle if he does not encounter full blown identity theft. All his photos are gone.
The interesting thing is that they stole his Mac desk top. He "located" his computer with the "find my mac" feature but the locator is not exact so the police cannot just go knocking on doors. His computer is shut down for now.
Police said theives hit in the day time. For those who have had home invasions, I now understand this horrible crime.
