This was my experience as well. The stylus often didn't register with the surface of my iPhone/Pad, or brought up something next to what I was aiming for. The stylus is smaller than my finger but less accurate.

they are super cheap on Amz, but I found a pack of 10 for $5 at 5 Below yesterday.
at Staples they want almost ten dollars for 1

I have to use a stylus. My finger is hit and miss. In order for the stylus to work, the rubber tip has to be soft enough. The tip has to have some give to it when touched. I got one in a goody bag once and the tip was hard rubber...didn't work. And since they are soft, they do wear out from use.
