The mobile data on my Tracfone Samsung J7 Crown stopped working

I'm not sure if this issue is connected with a recent system update I did, but the mobile data on my Tracfone Samsung J7 Crown stopped working.  I looked in the About section of the phone and it says disabled.  Has this ever happened to anyone before?  I restarted it, I made sure the SIM card was in place, and aside from that I can't think of anything of anything else to do except a reset or restore.  Just wondering if anyone else ever experienced the same thing.

Have you checked your account? Could you have used all your data?

@Stargazer77 - Without being familiar with your phone, when you say you restarted it, do you mean you switched the actual phone off and back on?

 

If your data is switched off, that wouldn't switch it back on.  Check your settings - should be under "Network & Internet " and make sure it's switched on there.

 

You could also just pull down the top menu and make sure the "Data" symbol is highlighted.

 

ETA: I've noticed with the last couple of Android updates that some of my settings get changed.  Irritating!

Make sure your data is turned on.

@Ainhisg I checked my account and have plenty of data left.

 

@Venezia I tried that, it’s “on” so to speak, but the 4gLTE doesn’t come on and there’s no connection.  In the SIM card status tab in the about menu, it says data network disconnected. On my backup phone it says mobile network in service or something like that, even if my data is turned off.

How do I get 4g on my Samsung j7?
Switch between 3G/4G - Samsung Galaxy J7
  1. Select Apps.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to and select Mobile networks.
  4. Select Network mode.
  5. Select WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) to enable 3G and LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) to enable 4G.

Also check VoLTE settings.

Samsung j7 prime volte enable
Turn on / off VoLTE
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings > Connections.
  3. Tap Mobile networks.
  4. Slide the VoLTE calls switch right to the ON or OFF position.
Starting 2021 all phones need VoLTE to work.

@Venezia I just checked Airplane Mode and it is off.

 

@Nightowlz Good suggestions!  It didn't work, but they were good!  Smiley Wink

 

I think I would have to give Tracfone CS a call to try and straighten it out, maybe they could do something from their end.  In the end, I chose to get a new phone.  I ordered the LG K31 Rebel duo (2 phones) from HSN, to replace this phone and my backup phone.  They'll be here soon.  I wanted to see if I could fix my current phone, though.  I would have kept one new phone (for my backup phone) and gifted the other one.  Thanks again for the help.
