My 67 y/o bro-in-law wants to learn how to use a computer, web, etc. Being retired, he is a handyman (for the neighborhood, too) and can really get use of the internet to search for parts, etc. He also has friends that have e-mail.
He never took typing in school, so even using the keyboard is tuff for him. I've showed him the basics of logging onto the computer and shutting it down. He writes everything down, step by step. It's like teaching a baby how to walk, I don't have the patience or time for teaching just the basics.
For those of you that started at square one, how did you learn? Is there software available for the use of a keyboard, or maybe on-line? How did you learn how to search the internet and e-mail (google, yahoo, etc.)? I appreciate all recommendations very much!
