Is there an advantage of having a chromebook over a tablet?  Just courious. I thought about getting a chromebook. I love my tablets but somethings about tablets I find annoying such as moble website instead of full desktop website pulling up  and not having a keyboard

I'll never have another laptop, I love my tablets because I can hold them like this while I kick back and relax in a recliner.

@Kachina624I use my tablet for pretty passive activities -  those that involve reading or watching.  As soon as I want to write or work on finances, I'm here at my laptop.  I like the keyword here far better than on the tablet I have (Kindle Fire).  I no longer have a desktop computer, but I rarely move my laptop so it's my desktop, too.

Re: Tablet vs chromebook

[ Edited ]

I did not like the tpouchscreen on my tablet. The jumping screen and sometimes I'd have to tap something over & over. I found it irritating. I prefer a keyboard and a curser. So I bought a Dell chromebook. Love it. You can choose a touch screen or a mouse and a keyboard.

I agree!!!  I couldn't figure out why I dislike using my iPad as much as I do until I realized it's the mobile version of websites I don't like.  If my iPad every dies or becomes obsolete, I'll replace it with a small notebook computer.  Look into a 11 inch computer or chromebook.

You might want to poke around in the settings. In my Kindle Fires I can change the settings so it'll display the desktop version. There may be a similar setting for your iPad.

I'll look but I doubt there is a setting to change it.  Some sites will give you the option to view the full website but, not all.  I know it's to save on data use but, I don't like it.  Oh well, it's a good thing we have choices.

I have a Toshiba chromebook 2, I love it!  next september I will have had it 2 years. I came from a broken down HP windows Vista laptop I bought in 2007. The chromebook is so simplistic to use, I'll never go back to a windows OS computer, I also use a 10 inch tablet, I prefer the chromebook over the tablet, tablet is more portable, it's kinda like using a a 10 inch androd  smart phone.  The chromebook is 13" screen, It's HD version of chromebook 2. I baby the thing, still has all it's stickers, etc. Easier to type then my tablet, which came with a keyboard case.I don't like going on Facebook on my phone or the tablet, if I go on with my tablet I always request desktop in the settings. My chromebook came with 100GB of google drive storage for 2 years, most chromebooks offer that. I'm in  to my 2nd year, i already had 15GB I've only used 274 MB of 115 GB, so I think I'm good to go even with just the 15GB. I do believe the 100 expire at the end of the 2 years20170307_183116.jpg

If  I can afford to upload my movies to a cloud then a chrome book would work well  for me. I have about 600GB of movies on my desktop
