After bouncing around the world mine finally arrived today. I had it sent to a UPS store nearby because I couldn't be home when it arrived and it requires a signature, so I will pick it up tomorrow and put it through it's paces over the weekend. I'm very nervous after reading throgh the reviews so far on the product pages. A common theme seems to be poor quality construction, a lot of black screens of death, and many complaints about how slow it is. A lot of people are returning it. I'll give it a fair shot though.

would not buy any computer from any TV shopping source.  If want HP, go to the HP website and see what they have to offer.  If you buy there, you'll get the latest products with the latest operating system.  If HP offers a extended servie plans, you can get one there.  I'd prefer that to a "3rd Party" warranty/service company.

We happen to be a Mac family.  iMac, iPhone and iPad.  We would hate to go anywhere else.  We buy only from the Apple Store on-line, and Apple Retail Store or an Authorized Apple Reseller.  That way we're sure of what we're getting.  We also buy Apple Care which extends our warranty and gives us access to Apple tech support.

I buy my Dell computers direct from the company site. I would never buy from a third party. A XPS desktop would cost me a few hundred dollars more. The Alienware laptop I buy would be more than a few hundred extra.

I get to select the hardware I  want, and I have a good idea how long the build will take.

Dell sometimes has some good sales on their site.

We bought two of them...  One 17" for us, to replace our desktop computer, which is a Dell that is over eight years old, and one 15" for our daughter, to use mostly for homework and such.  It took a bit for them to get to us, but they both arrived within a day of each other last week.  We have been very pleased thus far.

Mine is still in process too.  I called QVC today and they said something about the shipper.  I would cancel it but they already shipped the software bundle.
