The TSV looks great. TracFone also released the ALCATEL, which has a 5" screen and more processing cores, so it's only a matter of time before that one is offered on QVC or HSN. I am fond of the LGs, though... I'm also expecting even better deals for Christmas. 4-1/2" is nice for a screen. So is 5". I wouldn't want larger than that. IMO, some are too large. My phone simply MUST fit in my wristlet!

I caved...looks like a beautiful device, love the sleek look to the web pages and the GPS feature is cool. And the Skype feature with front facing camera! Can't wait to get it!!

My Centura browser is so crummy and swamped with ads so I rarely use it so I have close to 5000 mb of data! I pay $44 each time for 600 minutes and that buys me 4-5 weeks of talk time anyway and need to buy minutes soon anyway. Rarely have dropped calls with Verizon.

You may want to look at buying a regular cell phone with Verizon. Tracfone is "giving" customers a great phone so they will use their data plan. The data plans with tracfone are high. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1813574-Tracfone-Android-Data-Plan-Ad-on-Costs

Thanks - I really don't use much data, I use voice minutes and text. I was with T-Mobile for years and years and the whole buy the phone/lock-in contract deal. Their poor coverage never improved and the CS is horrible - I had a BlackBerry. The phone was no longer on warranty and the SA were very rude, I was so disgusted I wrote the District Mgr a letter and email! He was just as rude. I was with them for 10 years! I looked around at Verizon and GoPhone prepaids and the others, not interested in monthly auto-withdrawals from my bank account. With Tracfone the only dealings i've had with the reps were with initialization, a call or two to get up and running.

I have a regular VZW account and get a bill each month. I make an online payment each month. VZW CS is good.

This is a link to the service guide to this phone. It explains many things http://www.qvc.com/footers/el/pdf/E226810-servicesguide.pdf

You do not need a service contract.

nutmeg3, thank you so much for the link to the services guide. I did not know these existed. Are they available for any Tracfone?

You are welcome. You can usually find a service manual for a tracfone online or from HSN or QVC at their site. You can save a PDF for later use.

I found a tutorial on the Tracfone page. http://www.tracfone.com/case_select_action.jsp

You go down to the tutorials link, and click. You will find interactive help for many phones the company sells.

My phone was just delivered today!!! Charging it as I type. One question, not sure if anyone has answered this yet, but here goes. Can I transfer my "address book/contacts" without having to manually input each one? I sure hope so!

By the way ~ looks like this will be a really nice phone! Well made!

Thanks all!

Yes, you can using bluetooth. Here's how you do it. Without seeing the new phone or the phone you currently have, some of the steps may be a bit different or your phone may use a little different terminology, but you should be able to use these steps:

Adding contacts via bluetooth:

Activate Bluetooth on both.

From your old phone: Go to Contacts, click on the menu, choose 'Send Contact Info', choose 'Bluetooth'. Now choose 'Select all' and then 'Send'.

Now on the LG41c. Go to File Manager. Choose 'sdcard0', then choose 'Bluetooth' folder. Open the vCard.vcf and choose 'Phone' and contacts will be created.

I think the easiest way is to turn on the Bluetooth of both phones and send the phone contacts from the old phone to the new phone.

Totally dumb question from a novice... but if I buy this new LG and have the 840 from a few years back... and want to give that phone to a relative, can I own two TracFones under my name? I would think yes... but just not sure how it works.

Thanks.

I think you would need to contact Tracfone for a new SIM card for the old 840 and then the new owner could set it up with a new phone number. I did that with one of my old phones because I wanted a backup. I requested a new SIM card using the live chat feature under Tracfone's support menu. It was easier for me to do an online chat than call the 800 number.

If you bought the TSV and got a new phone number would that work out?

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I guess you would want to transfer your old minutes and service time to the new phone along with the 1200 minutes it comes with? I think if you did that it would end service on the old phone, including the phone number. But I'm not sure, so you would have to call Tracfone to double check everything.

I preordered this phone on 10/28 and it was on my front porch yesterday afternoon. I had it up and running within 2 hours. It came partly charged so that sped up the process. So far everything is smooth as silk and compared to my husband's optimus dynamic II, it's much faster. Excuse me while I go finish playing with my new toy. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I hope you are saving your phone contacts somewhere else like a Gmail account, Outlook Mail, or as a file on your Google Drive. If you Sims card gets corrupted, you could lose your contacts.
