I need you good people's suggestions on purchasing an Audio Player, please?

Requirements:

- The person I'm purchasing for is an elderly gentleman who is not electronically adept.

- The audio player would ideally be easy, straight-forward to use, nothing with tiny screens or buttons, and be able to access an audio library that carries the latest in audio books. Preferably nothing that has to be downloaded, but books on CDs.

- Good speakers, too, or at least have a way to attach good headphones (not ear buds).

If nothing good exists with the above preferences, then what would you suggest otherwise? Do Kindles or Nooks have the audio book capability?

I do have an iMac, so if necessary, I could download books onto the audio player for him.
