@Qgirl26 Thanks, that is very appreciated!  I'm particularly interested to hear how you feel about the power button being on the back and how that works with the fingerprint scanner, if it's cumbersome or annoying, etc.  Also curious about the notification light.  Enjoy playing with your new phone!

I think I'm going to hold off for a while and stick with my Samsung Galaxy Sky (the J3 model).  I'll buy some texts online and add a year's worth of time for 50 dollars with the add on at checkout, since my time is up in a couple weeks.  Then I can see what comes out down the line or if I want to try out the Stylo 3 eventually.  Thanks for the reply.

@Stargazer77, I love that texts are now $5 for 1000. I rarely talk on my phone but my family keeps in touch through group texts. That's such a great deal. I have not yet started up my new phone. I have been dealing with an emergency this week along with a virus so it's been a rough week. I just received a case and tempered glass screen protectors that I bought for it off of Amazon today so I hope to get it activated soon. I will keep you in mind and definitely give you my thoughts on it once I do Smiley Happy

To help anyone who hasn’t found the guide to the LG Stylo3 (technically named LGL84VL), here is a link to the Tracfone website for the quickie tutorial:

Tracfone Tutorial

At the bottom left column, under Documents, is a link to the detailed User Guide for the phone. It is 150 pages long, so not something I would print, but I downloaded it to my iPad and my computer.

@Stargazer77, I activated my phone I think the night I last posted here about it so have been using it a few days now. Not long but long enough to tell you that the button on the back has not been a problem at all and I don't anticipate that it will be. I have a case on it and that alone will keep it from hitting up against things and turning on, because the button is not flush with the case. I LOVE the fingerprint scanner, it makes it so much easier than putting in a pin. I was worried I'd have to choose just one finger (I know, silly, but I wasn't sure which hand I would want to use to turn it on if I had to choose just one, lol) but you were able to choose how many fingerprints you wanted, so I set up the pointer finger on both hands. I also put in a pin for a back-up when for whatever reason, the fingerprint does not work, which is a nice feature. You can set it up so that even with the fingerprint, you still have to use a knock code or a pin or draw a pattern, I think it was, in order to unlock the phone for extra security. I didn't want to do that but the pin helps as an alternative because when I'm driving, I do not answer my phone or texts but if my son is with me, I will often have him check it for me. By having a pin, he can turn on the phone and enter that pin to answer my calls or texts for me, which is a nice convenience. As for the notification light, it's so nice having that feature back! It's a more subtle flashing red light, does not blink madly but just a flash every few seconds, I guess, up in the upper lefthand corner. And I am having such fun playing with the stylus! I sat and doodled a little last night; it was very relaxing but it will come in handy for jotting down quick notes. But I definitely recommend the phone.  I still have a lot to learn with it and I have not yet used the camera but I really love the phone so far. I have to admit, even though I've always gone back and forth between LG and Samsung phones, I am far more partial to LG.

If there's anything else you need to know about it, let me know. I will be happy to help if I possibly can!

@Qgirl26  Thanks so much for that very detailed review!  I'll let you know if I think of any more questions.

My current Samsung is my first phone that's not LG.  I've always liked LG's Tracfones.  But now that I've had my Samsung I'm used to it.  I'm sure I would get used to LG again if I were to get another one.  Enjoy your new phone!

@Stargazer77, even though I tend to prefer LG, they are both good brands. Since I tend to go from one to the other, I'm sure a Samsung will be the next one I buy. It just seems that's how it works out. And you are right, we get used to what we have either way. I say enjoy that Samsung for as long as it makes you happy! It really is a nice phone so there is no need to get something else if you are still enjoying it.
