I love my Sonos speakers. I also have a JVC speaker that is great, and less $$ than Sonos. JVC has an internal rechargeable battery, so it is easy to move around. The Sonos speakers have to be plugged in.

You may want to consider an Amazon Echo. The Echo Gen 3, the gen 2 plus or the new Studio.

@swisher

Speakers, as in more than 1, and are ya lookin for true stereo or simulated sound?  If you are looking for monophonic sound, just buy 1 speaker. Which one? I have no idea. That I will leave to others on this forum who use this type of equipment, I do not.

Good luck,

I think the OP is looking for a 'smart speaker'...one that has voice recognition. So that would be more than just a speaker. Google Assist or Amazon Echo would be two examples. Those can also be integrated into a compatible home theater system.

I would pick Echo, Dot, Tap or another Amazon brand voice activated speaker.  We've used all of the above and love them all.  I'm not an afficianto but these sound fine to me and DH.

Speaking of speakers, I was craving the way music used to sound back in the days when we had big ol floor speakers and stereo sound .....We fell for the sound bar hype a couple times over the last several years, with the home theater set ups,also Bose and some others, but still was left  missing that kind of sound that gave me goose bumps.

Sound bars are fine for movies but for me, really never did satisfy my craving for the big rich stereo sound for music .Well, ..........

Fast forward to last week , when I did a little online shopping and grabbed some black Friday deals on floor speakers, woofer, center speaker, receiver, CD player etc.....I’m so happy to say I’m on my way to having my big stereo sound back ! Now I can cross that off my bucket list, and really enjoy the Christmas music.

What ever you decide on, enjoy the sounds of the season !

Another one w/the old school setup.....

Receiver.....5 disc CD player, TV & 6 speakers hooked up to it.

4 floor speakers.  2 huge speakers on the floor & 2 medium size hanging on the walls at the ceiling corners.  Talk about surround sound! Smiley LOL

The other 2 speakers are hanging on my bedroom wall at the ceiling corners.

All 6 speakers are connected to my receiver.  The only "21st century" technology connected to my receiver is my iPod Nano 5th Gen w/video.  I use it as my charging station. Smiley LOL

Enjoy your music the way its suppose to sound.  I know I do!
