HSN has a Panasonic with call block and also an added feature. It allows the machine to invite the caller to dial one, to be connected to the party.

They say the robo calls don't read this and so the call is not connected; unless a live party presses the number it requests.

@SouthernBee  Now, you can't stop the live callers who also badger daily, but you can use the regular call block button for those. Maybe your 25 daily calls will lessen to 10 or 15. 😆

I am tempted to try this phone because I have the older model with just the call block feature and I'm ok with it...but if this is really so, I'd be happier.

I'm going to the HSN site now to read the reviews. Maybe you can as well. 😀

@SouthernBee   As a previous poster mentioned, our 3 extension phones are on "silent" mode.  Only the 1 in the living room rings.  We have an answering machine.  If it's important, they will leave a message.

Wonder why you get so many spam calls???

@KBEANS : Thank you. I am using an older Panasonic phone. I will check this out on HSN.

@kaydee50 : I don't know why the calls have increased but frustrated.

@SouthernBee  If you're taking a nap shut the phone off if it's a cell phone.  Calls will go to voicemail.  If it's a landline turn the ringer off.  If it's a cell are they showing up as "spam" "unknown"  etc?  If so let them go to voicemail.  Same with your land line calls.  Let the answering machine get it.  You can always call someone right back unless you're expecting a super important urgent call or you get alot of social calls.

Not sure why you are answering all these calls.  Once you answer that means they know it's a good number and they will keep trying.  Many of these just auto dial a bank of numbers.  Like XXX-1000, XXX-1001 etc.  If you answer the computer then hands that one is then redialed at some point by a person (scammer).  Which is why you are getting so many calls. The more you answer the more calls you get.

About 5 or 6 years ago I got rid of my landline, that solved the problem.....I get only about 2 spam calls a year on my cell phone and I block thiose numbers and report them to the FTC!

OMG - that's a lot of calls in a day!  We have a landline too and I would say we average about 2 a day and then I use the "block" feature on my phone to block the number.

Probably wont' help, but if you do answer one of those calls, perhaps you can mention  "I'm not interested, and would you please; therefore, add my number to your do not call list?".

Good luck!!

I have both landline and cell phone. I get more spam calls on my cell phone. I know they're spam because I don't recognize the number out of state number and they never leave a message. I haven't gotten any on my landline for months.

I get Spam calls daily and they also spoof numbers so the call comes in with a name and number as if it was someone I know and a local call ( I don't know the name and still don't answer)  It's ridiculous !! I sometimes just unplug the landline, everyone who's important to me has my cell#  I have blocked calls thru Spectrum's block call line but I'm sure they just use another number to call again
