Hi. I'd like to get a single home security camera but I do not have a smartphone. Are there any cameras that will work without an app? 

I don't have a smartphone by choice, so please skip the suggestion to get one. 

I don't need live monitoring but I do need it to record what it sees.

I think what you need is a no-wifi security camera. One that has it's own storage card. Look at this one on amazon and see if this might work for you. Just copy and past this in the search box on amazon:

Do you have a tablet or computer?  Those that can be viewed on smart phones can also be viewed on tablet/computer.  I monitor my ring on my kindle.

@Marcia14  Do you need inside or outside monitoring. Looks like the Nana cam suggested by @SilleeMee is for inside use and should do the job if that is what you need. Good luck!

There are quite a few if not all of them have iOS (mobile devices) apps as well OS (computers) apps.  You will need to contact the manufacturer to confirm as you will have choices.

@Marcia14 - If you are planning to mount the camera outside, make sure it is either an outdoor camera or can be used either in/out doors.
