Samsung Core Prime Tracfone activated 7/2/17

I spent quite a bit of time today on the phone to activate my new Samsung Tracfone. I finally talked to a CS rep. and she was so patient with me until everything was set up. Good service from the rep.

Edited to add: unfortunately my phone number was not ported over and I had to get a new number. I don't know what happened but number had to be changed.

I spent one hour on the phone on Thursday with c/s, and finally I was able to make a phone call. Today, I get a message that call can't be compleated as dialed from Verizon. I can text, but cant call out. Dont feel like being on the phoe today for another hour. I will try again later. I do like the phone

I have a question ---is the tracfone you are activating the one from the TSV last week? You call it the Core Prime. I've heard it called the Grand Prime too. So which is it? I need a beefier case for it and want to make sure I buy the right one. Also, I had no problem activataing mine online at all. Kept my same number and everything from my old phone transferred just fine. So sorry you had problems.

Each Samsung smartphone or tablet has a unique product name and number. You can find this info inside the setting app or icon.It will help you search for a case. I would buy from Amazon. If you are not happy, you can send it back.

Hello, @wagirl, I can understand your confusion. The phone I activated was from HSN and it is the CORE PRIME. Very confusing 'cause there is another phone with a similar name, PRIME CORE, which I believe is from QVC. P.S. I think I should have used the online activation, it might be easier.

Thanks for the info. I did finally find what my phone is ---It's a Grand Prime or also SM-G530H or G530F. So now I can order the right thing. It was those 530 numbers that were throwing me off.

to Big Sister: I ordered the tsv phone...Grand Prime Samsung. My first smart phone! The cs person was very patient w/me when she was activating the phone. I just bought a "safe case" for it @ Walmart...$20....cheaper than anywhere else. I no longer will have to pay $45.00 a month for a phone, so it's a good savings for me. My kids showed me all kinds of ways to save the battery & how to use the thing....Actually my 13 yr. old granddaughter gave me lots of tips on how to text someone etc. How to use the gps etc. So far, so good.

@conniebirdI like my new Samsung Core Prime (why on earth did Samsung name one Core Prime and another Grand Prime?) Anyway, I think you will love the phone and I want to know if I can rent your granddaughter for a few hours. The kids know how to use a smart phone without trying. lol

lol.....the kids are so tech savy aren't they....they tell me that I'm trying to make it harder than it is. Duh! It takes me time to figure things out. Katie laughed when I showed her your post. lol I'm lucky to have her.
