I ordered a SamsungA13, Item number:E309930. It arrived today. I could not believe that it did not come with a house charger, so I actually called customer service and had it confirmed. I have to go outside to my car and charge my phone. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS. Please note, I am elderly, have been physically disabled for 20+ years and live outside of Boston. Can you just picture me in winter, with all the ice, trotting outside to charge my phone. This is so dangerous. If I want to spend $20.00 + shipping they will give me a charger. Right now an extra $20 on a fixed and stretched income is not possible. Has anyine else had this situation and how did you deal with it?

@jquiltlady    I have an iPhone which really is ready to be replaced.  The new iPhone will not come with a charger and that's been in the news, maybe for a year already.

I read the description of this and apparently it comes with the cable, but you need the charging adapter brick.  If you use Amazon, I see that they have some for around $9.  If you can get to a store like Walmart, they may have them reasonably too.

Other than getting that, if you have a computer with a USB port that can be used for charging.

@jquiltlady    Unfortunately, this is the trend with cell phones nowdays.  They're all doing it.  I just got a new Motorola phone and it's it same.  I did, however, discover that my old Samsung cord charges it just fine.  If you have an old cord, you might try it on your new phone.

Like someone else posted, you may just need the brick part. There are chargers to fit your phone available from Amazon. I did a quick search and several popped up. This would be a small price to pay vs. a broken hip.

@jquiltlady did it come with a cord but no charging adapter to plug in the wall? If you have another plug from another device, you should be able to use that. Most cords will have the part that plugs into the phone and on the other side would be an USB plug.

Yup this is how Samsungs come now. If it's replacing an old phone that actually came with a wall plug you can use that. I also have wall pulg extenders that also have USB ports or you can charge it on your computer if you have one.

At this point in the phone cycle, most people have multiple chargers lying around. I probably have ten of them lying around. Phone makers are following Apple's lead in no longer just automatically including one. It's just the thing that makes the most sense for everyone. Most people don't need another one. It costs the companies money to include them, so they're not including them. And most people don't need yet another one. If you don't have a charging brick, you can buy them very inexpensively. A friend or neighbor likely has a few extras just lying around if you ask nicely. And you can charge a phone in many ways, using a USB port on your computer or other devices.
