SOS!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE ACER ASPIRE ONE???

Received the TSV Netbook on December 23 and have not been able to connect to my router, which is a very basic D-Link that works just fine with my Gateway M6866 laptop. Most reviews mention how easy the Acer is to connect, but it's a major problem for me and the website doesn't really address this issue. I got a troubleshooting diagnosis that said "Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration". Being technologically challenged, I have no idea what that means. Am hoping that some will help me out here before I have to pack up this cute little netbook and return it. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
