SLOW COMPUTER

Computer is running slow. I went to philosophy.com to place an order. It brought up the site and I couldn't place the order. It wouldn't put anything in the cart. Don't know anything of the workings of a computer and how to do maintenance on it. Do I need a disk clean up or defrag?
