I am just getting started with my first Tracfone, the Samsung A10e. I get a Notification message "No SIM Insert SIM card." I'm a dummy on this stuff so bear with me. Is a SIM card necessary? I am not transferring anything from another phone, I am not porting a number at this time (if the phone works for me I may in the future port my current number).

Yes, you do need a SIM card. I have had 4 Tracfones over the years & there has always been one already in the phone when I purchased it. Did you purchase it from QVC? I would call either Q or Tracfone. If you call Tracfone be prepared to wait & possibly have someone who is difficult to understand. Good Luck

If the phone came from Tracfone, my guess that a card is already inside. In order to be activated it will have to recognize the phone, plan and number. That all has to be sent to it by Tracfone. Sort of like a magic wand so to speak.

I also have an A10e that won't work, same SIM card issue you describe in your opening post.
